As a DJ transitions are key – smoothly blending two or sometimes even three tracks into one another is a major task and an essential skill in order to keep the groove, remain a vibe or break with both to create something new. However, transitions within a single track when producing them are rare, because it basically means you’re on your way of combining two ideas in one single song or put two tracks into one torso – a rather difficult and challenging task, partly even confusing. Approaching this idea, the musical counterdraft to literary intertextuality in a way, requires both – a clear imagination of the result in the first place and the knowledge and experience to make it work at a production level. Copenhagener Nandu, a scene’s aspiring artist, agreed to the aforementioned challenge and delivers a three-tracker on Frankey & Sandrino’s Sum Over History label that not only does what the EP title, ‘Transitions’ suggests, morever it earns the title by assembling various sounds, elements, and ideas to namely three tracks that partly even skip back and forth between various electronic sub-genres. From deep, dark and raw sounds to Acid to euphoaria Nandu’s three tracker “Transitions” sums up what the label-name assumes, a brief history of electronic music’s infuences smoothly blended with each other as if the EP itself was to re-write history in the presence introducing the audience to the infinite possibilities of own futuristic histories.
